Blackberrry Bold Drops at Rogers Stores This Week
by Rob on August 19th, 2008
Research In Motion (RIM) has announced that its latest smartphone, the Bold, will be in select Rogers Wireless stores in Toronto this Thursday (no word yet on the exact spots). It’ll be available nationwide by next Monday.
The Blackberry Bold is RIM’s first 3G phone. All of Blackberry’s standard features are there: email, IM and Internet. But they’ll all be faster because of the smartphone’s HSDPA network and 624 MHZ processor. Add to that a brilliant multimedia screen, GPS and Wi-Fi. Score one for the Canadians? The Bold is widely seen as RIM’s attempt to expand and defend its massive $76.5 billion market capitalization. By adding the new multimedia features, the story goes, RIM can capture some of the non-business sector. Watch out Nokia and Apple. What do you think Apple lovers? Did you switch over too soon with the iPhone 3G? Or are you happy with your choice?
