No longer content to stay on comic book covers and silver screens, these masked metahumans are now descending upon the fragrance world. Our pals over at Diesel just dropped us a line regarding their newest “Only the Brave” scent, inspired by Iron Man 2. It’s part of their Spring 2010 lineup, and our instincts tell us it’ll hit stores just in time to coincide with the theatrical release of what’s looking to be a blockbuster sequel to the first Iron Man film. There’s no question this would make a perfect birthday gift for your Marvel-obsessed nephew, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock it either. Besides, Tony Stark wears it, and he’s goddamn Iron Man himself. Smells like cedar, amber and a hint of leather. Ideal for a night on the town, or rescuing foxy dames in distress. The bottle (which is not, in fact, an exact replica of Iron Man’s armour plated glove, though it looks like it) is a 75 ml and will be available at The Bay and Shoppers Drug Mart for $85.diesel-parfums.com

Are you one of those guys who love clever writing and constant plot twists? Or do you just want to see stuff get blown to smithereens? Regardless of preference, Green Zone just might satisfy both those urges. In yet another collaborative effort between director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon, it’s become obvious the two know how to work together (If you still haven’t seen The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, poor you). Damon plays an army chief who takes matters into his own hands after some flawed intel leads his unit to turn up empty at all purported WMD sites. Questioning the real reasons they invaded Iraq, Damon goes on a search for the truth - at any cost. There’s lots of high-octane action sequences here, as would would come to expect from the likes of a Damon/Greengrass tandem. The pacing is unsurprisingly lightning fast, the dialogue smart and taut, both of which help the film’s near-two hour running time fly by. Aside from reminding us of the ineptitude and skullduggery that defined Dick Cheney, Green Zone proves that The Hurt Locker is only the first of what will hopefully be a long line of good, well written and bluntly honest films about the war in Iraq. Or at least we hope it is.

Though you probably know that Lacoste is more than the popular crocodile symbol plastered on your polo shirt, you may not know their entire history. Lucky for you, there’s a new book to help you with that. Published by Assouline, Lacoste: The Element of Style gives you a stunning page-by-page pictorial account of the history of their products. In it, you’ll see the 77-year history beginning with the production of the famous tennis shirt that founder Rene Lacoste wore, to the present day, multi-million dollar franchise that features everything from fragrances to footwear. You owe it to yourself - and your coffee table - to make it so this book becomes a part of your collection. Get your copy here.
