The Grey Goose Cherry Noir Launch

On February 8, Toronto’s tastemakers celebrated the launch of Grey Goose’s latest line of premium vodka, Cherry Noir. Held at the Thompson Hotel, influential guests included supermodel Stacy McKenzie, Olympian Martin Reader and TV personality Nicole Holness. Guests were treated to diamonds upon arrival that were later exchanged for custom crafted Cherry Noir cocktails. With drinks flowing and a jam-packed house, the party proved to be the hippest place in town as guests forgot about the snow and partied the night away. Well done Grey Goose!

On Thursday, November 29th, Royal de Versailles, Canada’s pre-eminent fine watch and jewellery house, opened its doors on Toronto’s Bloor street to debut their new look and latest collections. Their new space was outfitted with key elements that exuded sophistication and glamour, creating an overall design that reflected the brand’s interests, shopping taste and overall style of today’s clientele. Guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails, canapés and live entertainment as they browsed the store’s selection of premium, luxury offerings. Second to none, Royal de Versailles’ watch collection provides the most comprehensive selection of each brand, which include Rolex, Audemars Piguet, IWC, Omega, Piaget, Chopard, Harry Winston, Tudor and more.

Sharp: The 2012 Fall/Winter Book For Men Launch

With the beginning of the fall season comes the release of every man’s ultimate lifestyle compendium, our Fall/Winter 2012 Book For Men. The party to end all parties, dapper men and beautiful women gathered at the new Shangri-La hotel in downtown Toronto to celebrate the book’s release and enjoy the finest in food, drinks and cigars. Guests were treated to a complementary ride to the event by car service company Uber. A 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé and 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Series were on display at the entrance as partygoers walked the red carpet to join the night’s festivities. Just outside the Book For Men party, guests were also greeted by PUSH models dressed in the latest men’s fall fashions, provided by GOTSTYLE. Inside, 600 of the city’s most influential tastemakers mingled and dined on hors d’oeuvres like Moroccan chicken samosas and potato rosemary sea salt pizza, while chefs at the central meat carving station served Peking duck and roast suckling pig. Drinks flowed freely throughout the night, courtesy of The Glenlivet, Absolut Elyx, Peroni, and Havana Club. Some of the night’s notable guests included CHUM FM’s Darren B Lamb, Washington Capitals’ Wojtek Wolski, Toronto Argonauts’ Mike Bradwell, and the guys from the world-renowned vocal quartet, The Tenors. Attendees on the outdoor terrace enjoyed Mombacho cigars alongside picture-perfect views of the downtown skyline. In the Editor’s Lounge luxury timepieces from Chanel (provided by Bandiera Jewellers), IWC (provided by Solaris Jewellers) and Gc were on display next to high-end audio equipment from Planet of Sound, bespoke shoes from Treccani Milano and Globe-Trotter luggage from Betty Hemmings Leathergoods. Elsewhere, guests were treated to complementary shoeshines from Walter’s Shoe Care , while American Crew offered relaxing hand massages. It was, without a doubt, the party of the year. Sharp: The Book for Men Launch Party Part II

On the night of Thursday, April the 20th, we threw our fourth VIP launch party to celebrate our Spring/Summer 2012 issue of The Book for Men and as usual, it was one hell of a time. Firstly, we’d like to thank our sponsors—Porsche, The Glenlivet, Absolut, American Crew and Peroni—for helping make the event as grand as it was.

2012 Canadian Glenfiddich Artist-in-Residence Event

On March 28th, Winnipeg native Jillian Mcdonald was on hand at Toronto’s Spoke Club to be feted as the 2012 Canadian winner of the Glenfiddich International Artist-in-Residence Award. Drawing on her inspirations of the American horror-film genre, Mcdonald was selected as the winner from over 100 entries from across Canada. Andy Fairgrieve, Curator of the Glenfiddich Artist-in-Residence Program, presented Mcdonald with the prize, which includes a three-month residency to live and work in the distillery’s hometown of Dufftown, Scotland.

Pirelli Calendar Launch Party

Pirelli launched their 2012 calendar with a gala at New York City’s Park Avenue Armory. Hosted by Julianne Moore, the event honoured photographer Mario Sorrenti, who shot this year’s calendar. Many of the 2012 Pirelli models were present, including Natasha Poly, Jessica Hart, Rinko Kikuchi and Isabeli Fontana, alongside designers Valentino Garvani, Johan Lindeberg and Vera Wang.
