Five Superhero Films That Actually Look Good
Wherein we preview the coming comic book movie Renaissance of 2012. By Matt CurrieTwo decades ago, Hollywood thought so little of superheroes it did this to one of our best. While that wound will never fully heal, we can all take solace in the knowledge that comic book films are getting better, ditching the camp for substance and pulling in thespians and directors of the highest calibre. And while there’s been a fair share of flops (re: last summer’s Green Lantern), this year is slated to be a big one for superhero films. We’re talking Chris Nolan’s third and final Batman, a dark, adult-friendly reboot of Spider-Man, plus a killer judge from the future who’ll make RoboCop look like a dwindling meter maid.

The Dark Knight Rises
Chronicle
The Avengers
The Amazing Spider-Man
Dredd
The trailer for Dredd hasn’t been released yet, but the second it does, we’ll let you know.
