Frankly, Family Guy’s comedy can be a bit inane at times, so at first glance Seth MacFarlane’s decision to venture into the film world seems risky. His new comedy Ted follows a potty-mouthed bear by the same name that lives with John (Mark Wahlberg) and causes friction in his relationship with his hot girlfriend Lori (Mila Kunis). Ted’s voice sounds a bit too much like Peter Griffin’s for our liking, and it may be tough for Family Guy’s crass style of humour to carry a feature film. But if Wahlberg’s speed round on white trash names is a sign of things to come, then it just might be a worthwhile watch. Hey, if a talking dog works, why not a teddy bear?
