    This is all fine and dandy but I would have appreciated an article that explains how to make better coffee, rather than just buy some equipment. I was looking forward to an explanation of any numbers of factors, including water temperature, coffee ground size, proper storage of beans/ground coffee, age, etc.

      This is true. Anyone that knows coffee will tell you that the beans are your first concern. After that comes the grinder.

      Some of these machines are fantastic, but only if you have the other steps right. A $5 drip filter with freshly roasted/properly ground coffee will taste better than throwing Illy in a $2000 machine.

      Some of these machines are fantastic and beautiful, but they’re fairly useless if you don’t have the other steps right.
