Cocktail Party Troubleshooting

For too long, cognac has been seen as a stuffy, after-dinner drink, reserved for high-backed chairs, drawing rooms and men with white hair. It's time that reputation changed for good. Already a favourite of rappers, athletes and others with status-conscious drinking habits, Hennessy - the definitive cocktail brand - can form the basis for some incredible winter cocktails. Here are three from Jordan Bushnell, Hennessy's head mixologist.

<b>End Game</b>
<br></br>
1.5 oz Hennessy VS
<br></br>
0.5 oz Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka
<br></br>
1 oz "apple cider gastrique" *
<br></br>
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
<br></br>
Method: Add all liquids to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled and strain into a glass with fresh ice, preferably large cubes. Top with grated cinnamon and an apple fan.

*<b>Apple Cider Gastrique</b>
<br></br>
1.3 cups of water
<br></br>
1.3 cups of brown sugar
<br></br>
2 cups of diced royal gala apples
<br></br>
1 cup of organic apple cider vinegar
<br></br>
Method: Bring the sugar and water to a boil and add diced apples. Simmer for 30 minutes and then add the vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 more minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool and then strain through a cheesecloth to remove any apple chunks.
