Oh yes, Canadian Mac addicts, after months of salivating and wondering ‘When !?’, you’ll finally get your iPhone on July 11th. You just have to head to a Fido or Rogers store near you and fight through the crowds.
For the unconverted, the iPhone 3G is an iPod, phone and Internet browser all in one; meaning you can call your pals, listen to music/watch videos and send emails all in one small device. Other features include GPS and an online App store where you can download new iPhone applications as they come out. The ‘Wow!’ factor from jealous coworkers is also included.
Plus, it’s retailing for only $199 US, with airtime plans starting at $60/month. It’s a great deal, one that’s meant to undercut local boys-done-good Research in Motion (RIM) and take a slice of their BlackBerry’s dominant PDA market share. We’ll see if they’re successful. If you ask us, RIM’s soon-to-be-released BlackBerry Bold may take the wind out of Apple’s sails. Until then, take a peak at iPhone’s specs at Apple.
