<p>Done? Good. Can you feel that greasiness? That’s called "sebum." Icky, isn’t it? Sebum is a nasty little substance that we men tend to secrete more than women when we sweat, according to Dr. Ethel Tur in her book, "Physiology of the Skin – Differences between Women and Men."</p>
<p>Plus, we just plain sweat a lot more than women do, which ultimately leads to dirty, stinky, damaged hair. And it doesn’t really matter whether you’re a brick layer or an investment banker – by the end of the day, your hair will be significantly dirtier than a woman’s. Why is this? Good question. With the exception of Michael Bolton, Kenny G and almost every existing European soccer player, men generally tend to sport shorter hair. Says grooming expert (and representative of Gillette) Teca Gillespie, "Short hair is far more susceptible to getting dirty because simply – there isn’t much of it to absorb, and thus, deconcentrate the excretion of sebum. This doesn’t happen to most women for self-explanatory reasons."</p>
<p>Good thing Gillette is on top of this. They’ve just released a new hair care line for men designed precisely for this unique problem we have. There’s six shampoos and one conditioner (each of which come sexily packaged in these deep blue-coloured bottles) ranging from a deep cleaning formula to an anti-dandruff one.</p>
<p>All the shampoos feature "charged cleansers" that are formulated to bond to dirt and oil, leaving your hair with a "charged clean." So basically, whatever your follicular ailment – Gillette’s got you covered. </p>
<p>Gillette Shampoo for men will be available this July at all major food, drug and mass merchandise stores for a suggested retail price of $5.49 for a 363 mL bottle. Gillette’s Hydrating Conditioner will also be available in a 340 mL bottle for $5.49.</p>
