Tesla X Crossover Utility Vehicle
From the people that brought you the first electric supercar. By Xiaoli LiBoutique automaker Tesla Motors released the first details on its new all-electric Model X crossover. The new compact SUV is the latest addition to Tesla’s electric luxury vehicle lineup, which already includes the Model S sedan and Roadster sports car. With the the Model X, the company hopes to tempt families into showrooms with features like seven passenger seater and ample luggage space. In addition, the Model X will sport a pair of familiar Mercedes 300SL-inspired “gullwing” doors, a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds and your choice of 60 or 85kWh battery. Tesla is taking orders right now for deliveries in 2014, with the fully loaded Model X hitting somewhere in the neighbourhood of $90,000.
