A Welcome Introduction: Laura Vandervoort

<b>What’s something that you look forward to in summer?</b>
<br> <br>
I would say BBQ’s, being outdoors and hiking and going to my cottage; which Canadians can understand. When I say cottage here (Los Angeles) people are like, “Cottage?”

<b>Do you have any favourite memories of the summer? </b>
<br> <br>
“A lot of memories happen to be at my cottage with my family, when we had our dog, and we have a great dock on the lake and so at night I would lay on my back under the stars and you could always see shooting stars out over the lake and very clear skies and crisp air and you could hear the loons. Just that sort of feeling and vibe, that is a memory I had growing up.”

<b>Do you have any stories of summer romance, or did your black-belt in karate scare off any male suitors? </b>
<br> <br>
“I don’t have any summer romance stories unfortunately. I was such a relationship girl growing up. I actually didn’t go to many summer camps, because I was teaching karate, I would stay at my Dojo and teach… so I couldn’t get into any trouble, which I’m sure parents were fine with!”

<b>You’re in a pretty big upcoming summer movie, Ted. What was that experience like? </b>
<br> <br>
“It was great. I was intimidated, it’s Mark Whalberg, and here I am walking in about to do scenes with him. For a girl from Canada going to Boston to do this, I’m not sure I could handle it. But the crew and the cast were really, really cool people and there was a lot of improvising, and it’s going to be really, really funny. It’s the mind of Seth (MacFarlane), so you can only imagine.”

<b>You used to play Supergirl (on Smallville). If you could have a super power what would it be?</b>
<br> <br>
“I would like to be able to nap in the afternoon! That would be perfect. I’d love to be able to just conk right out and go to sleep, because I never nap! That would be my superpower.”

<b>You’ve obviously outgrown the tomboy role, because you were on Maxim’s Hot 100 for two years in a row. That must be pretty nice. </b>
<br> <br>
“It’s definitely really cool. I think I was playing really strong women and sexually dominant women who didn’t wear much clothing, and were very comfortable ordering men around. So, I think my image to the public from playing those characters helped me get onto the list.”
